Wash hair with shampoo soap bar: a new hair care with natural soap, acid rinse and vegetable oils

The switch from regular shampoo to soap is sensible and allows a complete natural hair care. Its daily application doesn't require any extra time compared to conventional shampoos.

Avoid too long contact of the soap with the water, use a container to drain the water from the soap.

The use of shampoo bar for shampooing instead of conventional shampoos makes it possible to switch to complete natural hair care. Herbs and pure vegetable oils can bring significant benefits to hair and scalp health. There are various recipes and methods from naturopathy, which can be easily prepared at home in a few minutes.

Plants produce a large number of pharmacologically active substances. Many substances have such a complex structure that they are still not synthesized in the laboratory or only synthesized at a high cost. Plants are still needed as raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry. These mostly originate from field or plantation cultivation, rarely also from wild populations..

In contrast to chemistry, naturopathy considers only the properties of natural ingredients as solid units and not as a separable mixture of certain components. In the usual cosmetic products artificial ingredients are used, which are obtained from fossil or animal raw materials through complex chemical transformations. Their effects on human health have not yet been fully documented.

Without traditional products means non-straw and dry hair: beautiful hair can also be obtained thanks to natural products such as shampoo bars, conditioners, hair tonic, and vegetable oils. In naturopathy, very effective recipes are presented that can alleviate any specific hair problem.

Natural routine for effective hair care

Drying, brushing and styling cause the hair to break or split. A natural solution comes from natural oils. The coconut oil penetrates deeply into the hair structure and strengthens the hair for the next beauty routine.

The shampoo bar completely washes off the excess oil from the hair without irritating the scalp. Not only does it ensure a beautiful appearance, but it also saves the body many questionable substances such as sulfates, parabens, and silicones.

If the hot water can weaken the hair structure, don't worry: a rinse immediately after shampooing closes the cuticle and ensures beautiful hair without the use of silicone-containing products.

The modern hair care products promise great hair with all-in-one solutions. However, their ingredient lists contain lots of artificial substances that cannot always be used safely. Although liquid and solid shampoos also contain vegetable oils and extracts, their positive effects in combination with aggressive surfactants and artificial substances are significantly reduced. In natural soaps, the selection of the oils used plays a decisive role in the properties of the end product. However, only a few substances will survive the saponification process. Read more...

The vegetable oils are wonderful ingredients, but they must be used purely and remain in contact with the hair for a certain time. Although each oil contains different vitamins and active substances, we recommend using coconut oil as hair and scalp cure.

Nourish dry and damaged hair with coconut oil properly

Coconut Oil

The coconut oil consists mainly of saturated fatty acids (lauric and myristic acids). In 2005 the study "Investigation of penetration abilities of various oils into human hair fibers" showed that only saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids can penetrate the hair structure. The reason lies in the compact structure and the polar head groups of their molecules. The coconut oil penetrates deep into the medulla and provides the hair with high-quality substances, such as amino acids and vitamin E, which prevent protein loss during brushing and combing. On the contrary, polyunsaturated fatty acids cannot penetrate the hair structure.

APPLICATION: The melting point of coconut oil is about 27 °C. In Germany, however, it holds its solid form in every season but melts quite simply in the hands. Just take a small amount with your fingers and spread it over the entire length of the hair and scalp: The coconut oil has an antibacterial effect on the itchy scalp and can help with hair loss and dandruff. But nobody wants to walk around with oiled hair. That's why coconut oil is best used at home in the evening and wiped off in the morning. Shortly before sleep is the best time to oil the hair and let it work for a long time. A towel or a cap is enough to protect the pillow from the oil.

It is recommended to comb the hair properly before washing. Wet hair will knot quickly and may break. The coconut oil acts as a lubricant and makes it easier to comb the hair.

The positive effects of coconut oil can be prevented by artificial substances. Most conventional shampoos contain silicone and other artificial substances that form a layer around the hair and over the scalp so that coconut oil cannot penetrate. Our Shampoo soap bar is a good solution for natural hair care because it consists only of saponified vegetable oils and contains no artificial substances.

After the hair wash

The hair is not only damaged by the normal care routine, such as blow-drying and combing, but the hot water also stresses the hair structure. The cuticle of the hair reacts to the high temperatures and opens. A rinse after washing closes the cuticle again and gives the hair a shiny appearance.

Cold rinse: a tough but effective experience

Our shampoo bars wash hair and scalp effectively in combination with warm soft water. It is known from chemistry that soaps do not completely dissolve in water, but they form micelles, surface-active substances or molecule complexes of amphiphilic molecules in liquids. These aggregates are responsible for removing grease and dirt from hair and scalp.

The formation of micelles is influenced by the hardness and temperature of the water and the composition of the soap.
In order to effectively wash hair or optimally form micelles, the mixture of water and soap must exceed the "force point" (a certain temperature depending on the water hardness). In order to effectively wash hair or optimally form micelles, the mixture of water and soap must exceed the "force point" (a certain temperature depending on the water hardness). Our shampoo bars take advantage of the special properties of vegetable oils to effectively wash hair even in cold and hard water. Our balanced combination of fatty acids and oils can still form micelles even in cold and hard water.

Why then a cold Rinse?

Not only the formation of micelles is influenced by the water temperature, but also the outer cuticle of the hair can react to it: It can open at high temperatures and have unaesthetic effects on the appearance of the hair. A rinse with cold water ensures that the cuticle closes again.

For a pleasant hair wash, we recommend that the cold rinse is only carried out briefly at the end. Many common habits, such as blow-drying hot hair or coloring hair with artificial products, also damage the outer layer of the hair.

Acid rinse: from the kitchen all the ingredients for beautiful hair.

acid rinses

If you don't want to experience the tiring experience of the cold rinse, you can achieve the same contracting effect of the cold water with an acid rinse. They close the cuticle of the hair and have another positive effect: they can trigger the soap scum so that the optimal use of the shampoo bar is also possible in combination with hard water. The sour rinses are prepared in a few minutes with ordinary ingredients: vinegar, lemon juice or tea.

What ingredients work best?

The acid rinses have an astringent effect on the cuticle of the hair and are a good alternative to the cold conditioner to give more shine to the hair.

For their preparation you simply use ordinary ingredients:

  • Vinegar rinse: Mix 1 tbsp vinegar (apple, wine or balsamic vinegar) with 1 L of cold water and pour it directly on the hair after washing. Wine, apple or herb vinegar give the same results. With vinegar grin, a slight odor can remain even after hair drying.
  • Lemon juice or citric acid rinse: Mix 1 tbsp. lemon juice or ¼ TL citric acid powder with 1-liter of water. This rinse does not leave any smell on the hair but can lead to acidosis of the hair.
  • Teerinse: 1 L black tea. This rinse is ideal for dark hair. Allow the tea to brew for hours and then pour onto wet hair immediately after washing.

All rinses are used immediately after washing with shampoo bar. The selected rinse is poured over the hair and washed with plenty of water after a short time.

The conversion to this natural hair care can initially lead to undesirable aesthetic effects. The coconut oil cannot penetrate the hair optimally if it is wrapped in an artificial layer. The same happens to the skin of the head. This film can be removed by using shampoo bar. The hair could first show its true state. Under the silicone, they have access to no nourishing substance. But thanks to the coconut oil they can shine again naturally.
